AFS Logistics has partnered with art students at Calvary Baptist Academy to create a personalized Christmas card to send to their customers. Soccer player Chris Thomas was the winner with his trucking design.
Thomas designed a card featuring a red and green striped truck carrying Christmas trees.
“We chose Chris’ because he really focused on the truck itself and we thought he was broadly representative of the importance of transport, especially at Christmas,” said Anna Claire Stevens, Marketing Specialist at ‘AFS.
Brian J. Barker, Founder and President of AFS, said the ABC holds a special place in his heart and that of his family. They support several local community efforts, including Christian middle and high school athletics and downtown youth sports camps.
Thomas is a straight tackle on the ABC football team and hopes to play for Louisiana State University while earning a degree in track and field training. He will also be competing in the 2022 Dream Bowl, which is a showcase of college football stars with players from across the country. The game and series of events held over the Martin Luther King weekend are a celebration of the excellence, commitment and sacrifice made by players and their families.

Thomas’ map was made using colored pencils. He “chose a truck because it’s the most common, so the truck with Christmas trees and gifts. I just liked the idea,” he explained.
AFS came to Calvary Baptist Academy on Wednesday to present the school with a donation of $ 1,000 and give Thomas’s art class a Chick-Fil-A lunch to celebrate his hard work and creativity.
