Braavos held up well after their encouraging run at Holderness but a return to that trip may help, Fivecardstud have run well the last two times in less good company, while His Excellency came back from a huge layoff to be third behind Matts Commission and provided he takes a step forward could be close, with Roycano being suited by this trip but failing to score the last two times.

He looks between the two southern raiders in For Rita and Dream Conti, the latter was an easy winner last time out and takes the lead.

Race two is a veterans race for horses aged 9 and over, Path To Freedom worked hard to win at Witton Castle as they did before at Corbridge but are in good shape and could be the one to beat .

Pillowman was right behind Path To Freedom recently and could have a great chance with a 3lb advantage this time around, while Snow Castle won a weak race last time out and could be up against more of them.

Mustmeetalady is another one to consider, but he was below par last time around and could still be upset.

Race 3 is the Novice Horse Championship and has attracted 6 very promising youngsters, Ballydonagh Boy has been in great form all season and will no doubt put in another great performance, Beauvallon Boy was a very easy winner of Maiden last time out with Hung Jury, while Poncherello has won his last two races, the most recent being a weak affair.

The likely winner could be Desjay who won in very impressive style last time out and looks to have come to life with the better ground.

The Mixed Open could be an easy task here for Black Op.

A very easy winner at Corbridge, he has excellent form by the rules, including a 7th place finish in the Cheltenham Gold Cup. Nortonthorpelegend has chased Royal Chant recently and could take minor honors if allowed to dominate, while Wonderoftheworld has gone all out to win two open races recently and could be up against them here under a penalty.

Path To Freedom and River Frost could also fill the spots.

The first of the two Maidens is an Open Maiden and the Kelly Morgan trained Doctor Tom could come close after some good efforts this season Elusive Secret has knocked on the door including a good effort on this track before and El Tornado looks like a faster terrain will be to his liking.

Two that are still relatively inexperienced and open to further improvement include The Russiansaddler and Ridelonglivelong, both of which were highly rated last time around and should be noted.

The final race is a maiden of conditions for horses that have not placed in the top three of a race.

The standout contender is Il Padrino who finished fourth in his last start behind Imperial Imp and that is the best form on offer here.

The only other dangers seem to come from the two debutants, a 4 year old trained by Andrew Pennock by Workforce named Taita Hills and Sabik trained by Sheila Crow who is by Telescope, both are very capable trainers and worth noting in the paddock.
