Hexagon AB, a global leader in digital reality solutions, acquired the Jovix software and services business from Atlas RFID Solutions LLC of Birmingham, Alabama.

Jovix is material tracking software developed specifically for the construction industry, providing project decision makers with real-time actionable data regarding the condition and location of materials.

Cloud-based and mobile-based configurable workflow platform provides visibility and traceability of material status and location throughout the engineering, procurement and construction lifecycle (EPC). This streamlined process, called “material preparation” by Jovix, ensures that construction crews need materials without delay to complete their jobs according to plan. This is achieved by fully digitizing the supply chain to provide real-time, geo-contextual and relational visibility from manufacturing to installation.

Jovix combines web server software with information from multiple types of sensor and reader labels to automate previously manual paper-based data collection workflows on the condition and location of materials as they move. throughout the construction supply chain.

The software has been deployed in 25 countries on more than 650 job sites, including multi-billion dollar oil and gas and chemical construction projects. There are over 7,500 Jovix users worldwide.

“The acquisition supports our continued expansion into the procurement, manufacturing and construction market,” said Hexagon President and CEO Ola Rollén. “By removing productivity barriers resulting from material management issues with the goal of reducing material wait times to zero, Jovix delivers value to owner-operators, EPC companies, contractors, manufacturers and to suppliers. “

Jovix will be fully consolidated from October 1, operating within the Project Portfolio Management division of Hexagon. The acquisition has no significant impact on Hexagon’s earnings.
