How to track an Amazon package

  • You can track most Amazon packages from the Amazon website on your computer or through the mobile app.
  • If the order is shipped through Amazon’s own Amazon Logistics, you can see the delivery on a live map on the day of delivery.
  • If you want to track all of your orders in one app, including non-Amazon deliveries, you can use a third-party delivery app like Parcel or Delivery.

Using the Amazon Tracking Card

In many cases, you can track the exact location of your package on the day of delivery. You can see exactly where it is on a map and get a status update showing how many stops it is from your address.

There are several ways to access the tracking card:

  • Find the tracking information of your delivery on your mobile application by following the steps in the previous section.
  • Tap the delivery notification on your phone.
  • In the delivery notification email, click Track your package.

Missing tracking information

It can be frustrating that there is no tracking information for an Amazon package, or that the tracking information doesn’t appear to be up to date and accurate. If the estimated delivery date goes without delivery, it’s a good idea to wait a day or two before reporting it as a lost package.

Here are the most common reasons why your tracking information may be missing or inaccurate:

  • The package may have reached a regional hub. In some cases, for example when there is a very high shipment volume, the first analysis of a package may not take place until it arrives at a regional hub near the destination. When this happens, you may not be able to access the tracking information until very close to the delivery date.
  • Tracking is not available. Some types of shipments, such as Standard International, are not trackable and you will not see the tracking information until delivery.
  • Track delays. Sometimes there are logistical delays in updating the tracking database. This will delay the availability of tracking information.
  • The seller did not provide tracking information. Items sold through Amazon Marketplace may occasionally lack tracking information because Marketplace sellers may not provide Amazon with tracking information.

Third-party applications for parcel tracking

While you can rely on Amazon’s own order tracking tools to stay on top of your delivery details, you may want to consider using a third-party app instead.

The great thing about third-party apps is that they can aggregate the tracking details of all major delivery services in one interface, so you can see the status of all your inbound (and outbound) packages at a glance. ) without changing applications. This is especially handy if you regularly work with FedEx, UPS, and other services outside of Amazon.

Here are the most common third-party parcel tracking apps:

  • Package is available for iOS and Android and can track packages from 300 domestic and international delivery services, including Amazon Logistics. The app is free, but some features (including tracking more than three packages at a time) require a $ 3 per year subscription.
  • Deliveries is available for iOS and Android and supports dozens of delivery services from all major US domestic carriers, including Apple and Amazon Logistics. One of the coolest features of the app is its ability to automatically add estimated delivery dates to your calendar. The app is free but full access to all of the app’s features requires a subscription, currently $ 5 per year.
  • Parcel tracking is available for iOS and Android and supports around 60 delivery services. The app is free, but to unlock all of the app’s tracking features, you need to subscribe for $ 3 per year. In addition to standard tracking, it offers “delivery forecasts” which predict delivery times based on information provided by carriers.
