Sygic GPS Navigation is now available on Android Automotive OS

Sygic GPS Navigation app is available for download from Google Play in AAOS powered vehicles. It brings the premium sailing experience known from mobile devices right into the cockpit without ever having to reach for a cell phone.

Android Automotive OS is an Android-based infotainment system built into vehicles. With AAOS, users install apps directly into the car, and a car’s infotainment system acts as a standalone Android™ device optimized for driving. After downloading Sygic GPS Navigation app and selected maps, it runs on main vehicle screen. The easy-to-use interface and intuitive controls have been designed specifically for driving. With its offline maps, Sygic GPS Navigation allows users to reach their destination reliably, even when a data connection is interrupted or completely unavailable.

In addition to state-of-the-art navigation with turn-by-turn voice guidance, speed limit warnings, lane assistant and predictive routing, which takes into account live traffic information, the Sygic app is also designed to become a one-stop-shop for your essential needs on the road.

Expanded features, such as Sign Recognition, Dashcam, EV Mode, and Live View Navigation, will also be added as the required APIs become available. Moreover, the app will also provide detailed live data on parking, refueling and even charging options.

EV mode will prove especially useful for the next generation of AAOS electric cars. Once activated, drivers will be able to easily find charging points, check their availability and plan trips with charging stops automatically calculated and added to the route.

“After working closely with Google, we are excited to bring our solution to those who drive Android Automotive OS vehicles. And not just because of its advanced navigation capabilities. Our goal is to improve the experience of driving as a whole, including parking, refueling and charging, so you can find everything for safe and comfortable driving in one app,” said Stefan Janciga, VP Automotive at Sygic .

Sygic GPS Navigation is available for download on all Android Automotive with all Google Play integrated. The one-year Premium+ subscription is €49.99, including a global license with a global map and traffic coverage, and all updates released during the subscription period. All drivers can try the app with a 14-day free trial.
