GOLFER Tiger Woods has confirmed he will play in the JP McManus Pro-Am which begins Monday at the Adare Manor Hotel and Golf Resort.
According to US Golf Digest reporter Dan Rapaport, the 15-time major winner will play Adare in what will be his first event since the US PGA Championship in late May.
“Just confirmed with Tiger’s camp that he will indeed be competing in the JP McManus Pro-Am on Monday and Tuesday. Then the St. Andrews Open. Quite a fortnight,” he wrote on the social networks.
Separately, organizers of the JP McManus Pro-Am have announced that Hollywood star Mark Wahlberg will not be attending the event.
“We regret to inform you that Mark Wahlberg is unable to attend the Pro-Am. We look forward to welcoming him back to Adare Manor in the future. We are very happy to welcome all our guests for what should be our greatest Pro-Am ever,” read a short statement.

Details of the Pro-Am draw and tee times will be announced tonight and fans are encouraged to travel early Monday and Tuesday.
Traffic diversions will be in place for the Pro-Am and motorists are advised not to use satellite navigation devices or Google Maps and to follow local signage and instructions from gardai and stewards.
Parking lots (onsite and offsite) will open at 6 a.m. both days and gates will open at 6:30 a.m.
The JP McManus Pro-Am will be televised on Virgin Media 2 and Sky Sports from 2 p.m. each afternoon.
