Tom Sachs has never quite done what is expected of him. And with his latest collaboration with Nike, the New York-based artist proves that point even more, creating an “ordinary shoe for extraordinary people.”
Dubbed the General Purpose Shoe (GPS), the silhouette features an understated construction that features a number of subtle yet intentional design decisions. From the slight toe lift to the microfiber material around the collar, every part of the GPS is made with purpose, resulting in a shoe that Sachs would call a “tool for everyday life.” And before we see a number of additional color combinations, we’ll first need to get our hands on the “Studio,” which features a gum rubber sole and a blue-accented, white-dominated palette to its stem.
For another look at Tom Sachs’ first GPS, see below. These land tomorrow exclusively on nikecraft.com at an affordable retail price of $109.99 USD.
In other news, the Stussy Converse Chuck 70 is also dropping tomorrow.
