Vodafone smart technology announced the launch of the Curve Bike light and GPS tracker, to help cyclists stay safer on the roads.
The device combines smart lighting with GPS tracking and connection to Vodafone’s global network with the built-in Smart SIM, ensuring the rider is safer and the bike is secure.
Other features include Safety Mode with Motion Alerts that activate a siren (107 dB) if the bike starts to move, send location alerts directly to a phone and allow live location tracking in the Vodafone Smart app. .
GPS tracking means the rider can also see every ride in the app, record distance and time.
Impact detection and help alerts can also notify a horserider Trusted contacts if a fall is detected, send either a push notification, SMS, or automated call to let them know where the rider is.
A consumer study undertaken by Vodafone found that poor visibility and dark conditions on the roads (53%), fear of being hit from behind (44%), poor safety on a bicycle (26%) and Accidents unnoticed by others (26 per cent) are among the top concerns of bikers in the UK.
