KUCHING (October 29): Deputy Minister of Industries and Plantation Products Datuk Willie Mongin has said he will support whoever is selected by the GPS leadership to contest this general election in Puncak Borneo.

He however called on all members of the Pesaka Bumiputera Bersatu (PBB) Party to support him if he was chosen to defend the seat.

“I will also support them if our management says ‘Willie, you are not our candidate’.

“I will support them because I want to show my sincerity as a party man. A lot of people like to say they are party people but are not ready to make any sacrifices.

“On the other hand, if the management chooses me, people should also support the party to show that they are really party men,” he said at a press conference after the launch of the Pepper Festival here today when asked if he would defend his Puncak. Borneo headquarters in GE15.

Willie said until today he had no idea if he was going to be selected as the GPS candidate.

However, he said that as a party member, he should devote himself to the party and work to the party line.

“I am now with PBB, under Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS). I have to show my commitment and be a disciplined member of the party.

“As I have said before, I leave it to the wisdom of the party leadership to decide my candidacy,” he said.

Willie said he was very sincere in his fight because he wanted to make sure everyone benefits.

“And if we’re here, we’re here to sincerely work for the people, bring prosperity and more development, and look after the well-being of the people.”

“Of course, I hope I get the chance (to run) so that I can continue to serve the people and I hope they can also see my sincerity in working for the people,” he said. he declares.

Meanwhile, he dismissed the accusation that he was switching sides for the money.

“I can tell you that I never got RM5m ​​for changing parties, that doesn’t exist. Don’t believe when people say.

“Yes, some people say I’m a traitor, I’m a frog. But I believe that there are more frogs that have been accepted and they can still deliver well, even better than non-frogs. Let’s let so the people decide.

“I want to say it again, I put my commitment to the party. I am a party man and dedicated to the party struggle for a better Sarawak and a better Malaysia,” he said.
